Today we travelled from Orange, VA to Marshall, VA where we stopped for lunch at the Red Truck Bakery (which is apparently one of the 10 best bakeries in the US – not that we knew that before we walked inside – nice lunch though).
From there we travelled along Interstate 66 – which, sadly, is not the same as the iconic Route 66, for a short time before taking Skyline Drive through the Shenandoah National Park (saw a nice 1976 Honda CB750/4 at an information centre) and onto the Luray Caverns (which were spectacular!) before stopping in Woodstock, VA for the night.
All the roads we travelled today were in perfect condition and a combination of undulating roads and gently sweeping bends makes this region perfect for motorcycle touring – maybe next time …
