Today we travelled from Little Switzerland, NC to Asheville, NC although we started the day off by doing a bit of backtracking as we wanted to see the Linn Cove Viaduct in the morning light and visit the Linnville Falls.

After this we returned to Little Switzerland – and avoided a meeting with a deer along with way – to meet up with some motorcycling friends we’ve known for some time but never actually met in person before (we’ve been internet friends for about five years).

Following a magnificent STLT (smoked trout, lettuce and tomato) croissant at a cafe in Little Switzerland we visited Mount Mitchell (which is the highest point east of the Mississippi River) on our way to Asheville.
